A Journey into Bragan (pronounced braw-gin), Co. Monaghan Oil on Canvas 24" x 24"
There are places that feel wild, untamed, and full of quiet wonder. Travelling into Bragan, Co Monaghan took me by surprise. Living in neighbouring Armagh, I never knew Monaghan held such a rugged beauty, mountains, bog land, forests glowing with colours of burnt umbers and golds, and lone homes resting peacefully among the gorse and wildflowers. It felt like Donegal... without the sea.
Raw and earthy, yet filled with light, shadow and colour that give a magical reddish glow. It's a place, I feel, that holds its own mystery.
